
M42 The Worst Motorway I've Ever Been On!

The section with all the bumps/lines across the road, what on earth is it all in aid of? it's flaming dangerous, when I first hit the bumpy section I thought a wheel was about to fall off! Then my boot popped open because of how bumpy the road is and I was only going 50-60! I heard a slight noise but didn't think anything of it as you know what minis are like, then there was a guy in a van pressing his hooter and pointing to the back of my car. I pulled into one of the refuges to close it and then carried on

that'll be the concrete section of the motorway - makes your fillings rattle doesnt it
its getting worse as the years go by.

yeah its flaming awful! makes an almighty racket in the already noisy car!!
although imagine the delays if it was ever re-surfaced!!!

Well not to worry. My dads a highways engineer and spend most his time working on motorways. The government plan to have got rid of all concrete motorway surfaces by 2013. Although knowing how they stick to time scales it problem wont be done until some time after that.

Yes it's not as if they make much money from the humble motorist via car tax?

Yea right. All the money has gone on propping up the banks and paying their bonuses now.Well not to worry. My dads a highways engineer and spend most his time working on motorways. Its a bad stretch still remember the sound on every seam and i was in a big car going to the Radio control toy shop
