Does anyone know where I can find the exact spec of a stage 3 head, such as valve sizes, porting diameters etc. There is a head for sale locally to me, the guy say's its been ported but does'nt now to what level and he thinks it had been fitted to a 1100 block previously for autograss racing. I need to ensure it is stage 3 as he's asking for a fair price for a stage 3 but too much for a standard head, any info would be greatley appreciated.

Its on the front page mate
There you go: http://www.theminifo...-engine?start=2

Ask them the full spec (valve size, chambers, etc), because behind the word 'stage 3' there are different specs that may change from one manifacturer to another.

There is no such thing as a specification for Stage 3 (or any other stage for that matter).
It is an arbitary reference used by each company making performance heads to say it is a bit btter than their 'stage 2'.

For instance, if I was that way inclined I could sell heads as follows:
Stage 1: Painted a pretty colour
Stage 2: Painted a pretty colour and head surface skimmed
Stage 3: Painted a pretty colour, skimmed and valves re-lapped and new stem seals
etc.

So a Stage 3 head from MED would be much different to mine!!

A valid point well made Graemec!
