Hi today I found a loose wire from the brake fluid resevoir cap (master cylinder cap).

It seems that the brass connector has rotted away with the aid of the brake fluid!

Can someone confirm that this is the replacement part for an SPI? it seems like as it has the dual connectors

seems like a 2 min job to replace!

One thing i am puzzled by is why my test light on the rocker brake switch wasnt on to signal the problem. I have tested the light on the switch and it works fine?

why can this be!

Cheers

Craig

That's the one, take note though that the particular one you linked to is no longer stocked and there's a new replacement one underneath - slightly different design but it will fit, I had to use the same one.

The light on the rocker switch will only light when your brake fluid level goes down and the circuit is made.

Bear with me a minute while I find the topic I had on about this problem... because it turned out to be a bit more complicated than I thought but I worked it out in the end..

Forget my topic - I had wiring of a different setup as mine is an older model and the old switch was actually mounted on the side of the reservoir so I had to re-wire it a bit, if your existing filler cap has tags on it and that's how it works now then you'll be fine just buying that cap and replacing it ;)

Great,

I didnt see the second spade conector on the new alternative as it was beside the other instead of being on opposite ends!

Makes sense on the brake fluid level and the complete circuit!

Cheers

Aye, they're both at the same side, which makes for neater wiring if you're into that kind of thing ;)
