Right, my paycheck and birthday soon so will be spending money on the mini. my first priority is to change the exhaust to this. With this exhaust i was wondering if the noise levels would change.

ideally i would like an exhaust that doesnt sound like i want to run over old people at 70MPH with a stupidly loud and "bin boyish sound" but an exhaust sound that will still turn peoples heads but say "that sounds like a nice mini".a pleasent exhaust sound if you know what i mean. if not, i will throw more metaphors out until you get my drift :shy:

anyway, my question is if i bought that exhaust and a silencer like a cherry bomb This kind would this fulfill my criterea? or would it sound to chav like?

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Lewis

I have an exhaust similar to that without the cherry bomb on my 1000 a mini play 2.5" twin exit stainless jobby similar idea really. It is far far too loud to be honest good at first but then becomes annoying after a few mile the main issue is the amount of power it saps you loose all your back pressure or waht ever it called so naff all bottom end power and even on my 1000 loosing an easy 5/10bhp over a proper performance exhaust. I am swapping for a single exit maniflow 1.75" still gives a nice throaty rasp more so than the twin manfilow option whilst being a proper performance exhaust :shy:

I had a big loud exhaust when I first got my mini and I used to be embarsed to drive it, I switched to a side exit 1.75" and it looks subtle and sounds brilliant, Although imo it's a bit too loud at times, but only when you put your foot down.

Yeah I am probably going for a centre exit version of that as still going to be a hell of a lot quieter than mine cannot really have a conversation about 45/50 without shouting....
Can her the exhaust on this vid is a lot louder than on here even will get a driving video up to see what i mean about interior noise on the move:/

I've got a maniflow lcb and link pipe and a fletcher cat to back side exit with a de cat and i love it, its a bit loud but it sounds real and not amplified like the dtm that was fitted when i bought it, i would highly recomend, but if you want it to be quieter than that then go for a maniflow or rc40 twin box system.

If you want something a bit throatier i would go with this LINK..

I have the Twin Box RC40 with the standard 1.75" exit (LINK.) and I have been told that you can here me coming. So with the 2.25" exit but retaining the the optimal 1.75" through the rest of the system then you should not be losing any power band gaining a raspier exhaust note.

i have a twin fletcher DTM style exhaust with a maniflow manifold and straight through exhaust and the result is fabulous! not chav Mc Donalds car park load but a deep rumble that turns heads everywhere i go!

cant fault it one bit!!
