Need help please
95 SPI we have put an alarm bypass box in and all seems fine when you put ignition on. Fuel pump primes etc. The car starts on the first turn of the key and runs for a few seconds before dying. If you then try to start straight away after this the car will not start. Wait a few seconds and it starts but dies again. Starting to lose patience. Help . Thanks

Hi, i'm having a similar problem to you with my 95 spi. i haven’t got to the bottom of the problem so i'm not much help in that respect, but i'd be very interested to know if you have any luck.

I’ve checked all the leads, distributor, coil etc and it doesn’t seem to be anything to do with that. i think it’s some sort of sensor/ ecu problem with mine because the revs are a bit erratic, after a few seconds of turnover with a rough low idle (if it lives that long) it shoots up the revs with a really high idle, then slowly drops and dies.

I'm too busy at the moment with uni work, so i haven’t got anywhere with it, but my next steps are going to be to check all the vacuum hoses for leaks and try and find someone who will be kind enough to lend me a code reader for the day.

hope you get yours sorted, dont forget to keep us updated!
