What Paints Best For Floors And Wheel Arches

right guys my mini came back from welding today and my first job is to paint the floor so my question is what is good to paint the floor i will also need to paint the wheel arches and the front bulkhead behind the a panels etc so whats best i already have some underseal with waxoyl in it but didnt now if this would be any good for the wheel arches as it stays tacky so what do you guys recomend i would prefer something that doesnt smell really badly as im doing it in my garage thanks ross

never used it myself but POR 15 is supposed to be the last word in rust proof paint. hard as nails and will protect from rust good n proper

tetrashutz is what you want for under the wheel arches, it comes in cans and you spray it on using an underbody spray gun attached to a compressor.

The underseal you have goes hard over time i've found and is horrible stuff to put on

I used black hammerite, then went over with waxoyl

Etch prime, coat with Gravitex (same as tetrashutz but miles better) then top coat with whatever you like. Avoid anything that dry's hard like Hammerite as it will chip off eventually.

I etch or rust stop prime then i use a material called sks made by wurth it is water based rubberised coating its like gravitex just what we use at work. then when cured and paint with an added flex agent we use uhs 2k paints. I personaly like inner wings and some underside areas to be smooth so sometimes i do the same just without the sks but hand seal all joints prior to paint.

por 15, it works. Only use waxoyl if all the rust is gone as it does not ,kill rust. personally I would use dinitrol. Dinitrol meets the MOD standards for corrosion protection.

rustoleum is amazing too we use it in wet environments at work and its good
