I think I have just (accidentally) won a 1300cc mini block with pistons, etc. off tardme, http://www.trademe.c...px?id=257120017 I don't know but $250 (~100 quid) seems a bit cheap, before I go and pick it up would you be able to let me know a few (easy) things to look out for? Eg. Along the lines of scoring on the piston bores, assume I know nothing! I'd rather bail on a trade than buy an expensive paper weight.

Chur, Joe.

I'd look to getting it rebuilt with a fresh rebore and new pistons anyway.

There's plenty there for your money.

Since it's been so stripped down you'll need new bearings and rings to get it back together anyway so you might as well go for a rebore.

You could take a print out from one of the online parts catalogues (Moss, Somerford) to check what's missing. I didn't see a dizzy or its drive shaft for starters.

The thermostat housing suggests it has been in a Mini but you may want to work out what the final drive is if it could be from an Allegro.

It's an A+ but there are a few bits that don't match - the rockers and timing chain cover, needn't matter though.

Chur, What do you mean by a print out, just print out a parts list and check off what I have and what I need?
I'll have a chat when I pick up and see what he knows about it, be nice to finally have the start of a 1300. Excitin' stuff!
