Wrong Battery
Hi, I need a new battery for my power hungry MPi. Many years ago I was supplied with a battery but it turns out its the wrong one. What Ampage round pole battery should I have and is there a more powerful battery that I can fit without blowing all the fuses?
Thanks

I just fitted a new 075 because my battery was dying. It fits the battery box perfectly. I had an 063 (I think) and it wasn't secured down with the battery bar. It started moving within the box, and eventually started earthing with I was driving! So, a new positive cable was needed. But I'll have no suck problems with the 075 because it can't move. It also fits nicely under the boot liner I just fitted from Retro Retrims.

Why is it so power hungry?
And you could have a battery the size of the moon, and as long as it's 12v it won't blow any fuses.

This reads as though it is an 075 battery, but for £42 plus £7 postage, you might as well walk into your local motor factors and get an 075 for £50 inc vat tomorrow...

I recommend putting a block of 4x2 timber underneath the battery, as the 075 is 2" shorter than standard 038s, as without any timber, the positive cable can touch the boot floor as evanisgreat experienced.

Could this have something to do with me having to take it out to charge it every week?!

If it's being charged correctly by going on sufficiently long drives and your earth straps/alternator are ok then should be ok

If it needs charging every week, you have a duff battery, or a duff alternator.
Or possibly you have added lots of additional stuff that requires more power than the alternator can supply. I've never used anything other than the standard battery and never had a problem. My hillclimber runs an 18Ah battery and no alternator, lasts longer than you think

Went to Halfords today, an 075 is £72.99!!! Very tempting to go to that Battery internet company and pay £50....?
Yeah halfords is expensive, try a local non-chain proper motor factors
