Thats daft, just because he said I want a small car which has four seats. If I say I want someone to build me a car that goes 18 times the speed of light and someone makes it do I get credit

Typical press garbage really and it was Issigonis who set all the precedents right from when he drew a line around 4 chairs and doodled sketches on table cloths and fag packets.
All Leonard Lord stipulated was that the car had to be very small and use an A' series engine (i.e. an engine that was already in production).
Issigonis created his Tardis like 4 wheeled wonder and now after 50 years his credibility is being questioned?
Well at least they didn't knock him for not being British born for a change.

To be fair this is the first time I've ever heard of someone not give full credit to Issigonis.

That's like saying the Spitfire wasn't down to the design brilliance of R.J. Mitchell, it was the Air Ministry who laid down the specifications, but they couldn't have designed & built it, just as BMC could not have designed & built the Mini without Sir Alec. Credit where it's due, the man was a legend.

Well why not post your messages and put that pratt from Cornwall in his place?
