Well been on here for a while now and thought it was about time i started a thread as this is my daily driver and rolling project. I brought it from the for sale section here back in April..... it had a red roof and white wella's at that point. Standard 998 with a stage 1 kit & electric ignition, 7.5" cooper S set up, full steel removable front. In side it has some MG metro fron seats with harneses on the drivers side (really need to change the seats) and that pretty much it.

it started life like this (well did have the red roof and white wheels but they were sprayed matt black before i took any pictures.

Then i decided i wanted to remove the front bumper, spray the grill and rear bumper matt black to match the roof and wheels.

since then i have made a tempory dash for some 6" FLI speakers and a DVD/CD head unit.... still not sure if i am going to do a full ICE install in the back as yet. it has had new Hi-Lo's fitted anlong with barings and ball joints

next jobs as follows.....

New roof skin either fibreglass or metal to get rid of the stupid sunroof
New seats
New dash
either a 1275 or a small bore turbo
maybe a carbon fibre wrap for the roof and bonnet
tubbed rear arches so a little lower
maybe a ICE install.... 2 x 12" subs in the rear and components up front

well not much done but it has had a mini service.... fresh oil, filter and plugs. brought the Oil from halfords, it was the stuff for older cars they do in the tin so see how it goes with that as it should help with the leaks... only a few pictures from the snow to add!!

well had a strange noise that i thought was the water pump... so after replacing it that it carried on. i have noe figured out its the alternator barings that are making the noise so will have to look out for them... just a few pictures from earlier

Hate to say this, but it looks like someone’s walked of with the rest of your mini Lol

I had a pretty strange noise on mine a few weeks back, one hell of a rattle at idle and low engine speeds, but when trashed disappeared. Turned out the bottom pulley that I’d replaced when doing the timing change a few weeks previous had decided to self-destruct. The two half’s were only being held by one mangled rivet, the rest had since gone Lol

Before you go buying a new alternator, slacken the belt off and give the pulley a spin. It should be nice and smooth, if it isn’t and a squirt of WD shuts it up temporary, then yep the bearings have gone.

ill give that a try. took the belt off and started the car and was fine. when the belt is on and look down you can see the movement on the pully on the alternator.
