When I let the clutch out there's sometimes a 'knock' noise, it just seems like the engine is moving about a bit. But when parked up there's no movement when I push the rocker cover. I usually here it in sync with when the power comes if you get my drift. It's getting louder and louder and i'm getting worried. Any ideas? I think I might of caused the probplem by wheel spinning

sound like the steady, until u say the engine doesnt move when u do it by hand. prob best to change the bush and see, its an easy and inexpensive job so worth doing anyway

while your there you could lift up your bonnet, watch the engine and turn the steering wheel from side to side. If the engine moves when you turn the wheel then your subframe mounts are shot too. You should only need to change the rear ones on the front subframe.

As for engine mounts get a friend in the car then get him to pull away with handbrake on, you should be able to see how much the engine rocks then. If it looks alot change the tie bar bushes first as these are easiest. Don't forget the bottom one too.

Failing that then you could try clutch cover mount and the one under the radiator. A bit trickier but you should still be able to do them.
