hello
i have a k reg cooper that needs reshelling and have purhased a 90/91 shell some time ago both are in the back of my garage with a load of junk infront,
i have been talking to a chap who tells me that the shells are diff as one will be a carb and the other a inject engine

so the question is....is this correct?????

......and if it is so what are the differences???

Is the new shell from a Cooper? If so, it could be an injection shell anyway as they came out in 1991.

If not, the differences are relatively minor such as brackets for various relays, tappings for fuel vapour valve, studs for fuel pipes and possibly the alarm tab inside the bootlid. Could also be a different washer bottle mounting and rear exhaust mountings too. Easy stuff to get around though..

checked out the chassis number and relates to a carb cooper, so nothing major then it will just a case of drilling, tapping and poss slight bit of welding??

noticed the n/s inner wing vent for rad/fan is diff, will this be a problem???
