95 Spi Injector Not Squirting

the car has recently had a labda and mani temp sensor for mot. Crank sensor? A friend has offered me a complete set of ecu, alarm box and fob, but he cannot find the fob at the minute (i realise they are all coded together).
My thoughts are that the injector is still being immobilised somehow? If the ECU pulses it, could i just fit an additional earth to the injector?
thanks

What is the MNE number on the ECU?
mne 101170
Forgot to say - immobiliser takes out the cranking, fuel pump and injector? - i have got crank and fuel pump as stated - just not the injector.

That is a coded ECU and without the alarm/ imobiliser box, its not going to work. I believe you can get it recoded, but its probibly easier to find a MNE101070 ECu from a Mini cooper 93-94
Hi sprocket, that was the point of getting the alarm bypass box - looks like an alarm unit, but bypasses it. Have you had any experience with these? I am wondering if it is "fit for purpose"

Yes, you can get the MNE101170 recoded to eliminate the inmobiliser function. I have been using mine like that since April with no problems. Actually, it was Sprocket's suggestion. A bit expensive but worth it, since it was completely remanufactured. I just had the car sit for three weeks while I was away and started right up on the first attempt yesterday. See the link:

The alarm/ imobiliser has a two stage security feature. You have eliminated one of the stages, the second stage is the code that the alarm box would have sent to the ECU. The alarm box is no longer there but the ECU is still waiting the code that it would have sent.
manufacturers do this as it prevents the clever theif changing the ECU in the engine bay and starting he car. The alarm box is buried away behind the dash which would make it increadibly difficult to change that too without the increasing possability of being noticed or caught
Change the ECU and the alarm will prevent the engine starting without the fobs, or Change the alarm box and the ECU will prevent the engine from starting. BOTH have to be changed for a matching pair of alarm box and ECU, or a bypass box and uncoded ECU.
You have not been sold a duff product, but you have only been sold half the fix.

Ah right, thanks Sprocket for the in-depth info, i shall be on the lookout for a MNE 101070 ecu now,
will let you know how i get on
thanks
