Please excuse this question as i fear it may be silly, but i cannot find any previous posts relating to it.

I have this rear fog light from Mini Sport:

Trying to install it, i take it the black wire is the ground, but where do i connect the white cable?

Any help is greatly appreciated as i am new to this >_<

Should it not just be a easy swap?

the white "braided" cable is live. just connect it to the old fogs live?

or im i missing something?

I think what mi-cool is trying to say is that he has never had a fog light and so this is a brand new addition to his car and he needs to know what to connect where >_< (sorry, I can't offer much help on the subject though, although I have a feeling that the light blue wire with the yellow stripe which you will find on the loom in the boot is what you need to be plugging in....could be wrong though!)

If the vehicle is pre 1st Apr '80 then it probably wont have the wire for the fog light, you will need to run a live switched live wire from the dash ( where the switch will be added ) through the vehicle to the rear...

After 1st Apr '80 the vehicle should have a fog light as standard and therefore the wiring should be there as above.

However, if a fog light is fitted, irrespective of year, it MUST work and have a tell-tale in the cabin.

I think you would help the query along if you had stated a year of the car, If indeed there was already a fog fitted, If you had a switch in on the dash for fog lights (thats probably a key question regading the instaliation of the new one you have)! I.E as the above post indicated perhaps the wiring is there if not your talking about fitting a switch in the dash to control the switch and to indicate whether it is on. You will also need a relay.

Do you have front fogs? an option could be to use the switch from them. i run both my front and back fogs form the same switch.

Shouldn't need a relay for a rear fog, as it should only be pulling 21w max
