How do the features of this compare to a comparable package, say the Specialist Components Storm ignition system ?

The SC Storm ignition system is a very good ecu unit. The storm kit includes the following items for £345 + Vat so the price is £396.75.
and includes the following
The Storm package:

• SC Storm ignition ECU
• Complete wiring harness
• USB A-B Lead and software CD
• Crankshaft position sensor

So you still need a coil pack, and trigger wheel a MAP sensor which is £55 + vat or a DCOE/DHLA Carburettor Throttle Position Sensor
Price : £59.00 + vat.

So to get a storm kit up and running it will set you back around £479 plus vat £550

As the SC storm package is very good. The megajolt package is cheaper and alot of people are able to make their own kits.

The SC "Mini Kit" includes the trigger wheel, but was more interested in the features and post sale support comparison...

Basically as I'm interested, need a mappable ignition system for my planned engine build capable of 3D map upto 10k rpm.

Yes it is £310 Including postage the whole unit weighs around 4kg, but I am up for a deal. You just need to ask.

The main features are.

The Megajolt Lite Jr. is designed to work with the commonly available Ford EDIS 4,6 or 8 cylinder ignition module. Combined with inexpensive and easy to obtain OEM coil pack(s), trigger wheel and crank sensor, you can realize your engine's potential at a fraction of the cost of other systems.

The V4 controller is now more compact and rugged, and adds an new auxiliary input for reading a temperature sensor or other signal. Oh, and did we mention a shiny new case? DIY can be beautiful, too!

Major Features:

3D ignition mapping: 10x10 ignition advance grid with full linear interpolation smoothing between cells
Dual, on-the-fly switchable ignition configuration
Analog auxiliary input to further adjust ignition advance
Four user-defined output switches, which trigger on RPM, Load or Auxiliary input, plus shift light output
Modern, easy to use, and customizable Windows-based Configuration/Tuning software Screenshots
1000's of satisfied users worldwide-

Hope this helps
