As I'm new to the SPi engine I need some help. What parts do you replace on a service? What dizzys do they have and do they have points and a condensor or just a rotor arm? Should the vaccuum hoses be replaced? Do sensors count as service items or do you just replace them when they're faulty?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, didn't know they had a fuel filter. Where is it?

I'm surprised the service schedule doesn't mention changing the leads and dizzy cap.

Hi ben,

the fuel filter is bolted to the rear subframe, directly underneath the fuel tank - you have to get underneath the car to see it.

Regarding the dizzy cap and HT leads, yes, i too believe these are service items, and if you don't know how long they have been on the car, i would replace them ( also a rotor arm wouldn't be too expensive at the same time)

Cheers Ryan.

So far my shopping list is:
Plugs
Leads
Dizzy cap
Rotor arm
Oil
Oil filter
Air filter
Fuel filter
Fan belt
Oil filler cap
Antifreeze (coolant change)
Screen wash
Grease (for suspension)

Anything I'm forgetting?
