Im having trouble with the mixture on my car and am wondering if it is worthwile to buy one? does anyone have experience of them?

utter bag of *poop poop*, only marginally useful for idle mixture and even then plug colour is a better indicator.

Must admit, I've never had that much success with colourtune kits (even though I somehow have three kits now lol).

I do know some people are very much in favour of them though. Might be usefull to get the engine running 'safely'?

I've got one and found it a pain to use but you can fine tune needles with it and it is very accurate.
Pity it wasn't easier to use but as they say, no pain no gain.

on the contrary, i have found it to be pretty good. as long as your needle suits your spec you should be able to use it doing a fair few checks.

For finding a safe tune with a needle that is correct for the engine it is perfect. It can help you select the right needle if you know enough about needle profiles but because it can't really be used under load it's not useful for a beginner to use as a reference and could even lead to a false sense of security. I think they are ideal for an anual service check up and tune, if the engine is custom it should have been to a rolling road first though and the Colortune would then be used to keep it in that setup.
