Hi All

Ok, bought a set of new adjustable bottom arms a few months back. Fitted them to the the refurbed subframe, and put it all back on the car. No problems. Went to fit the hubs the other day, and the lower ball joint will not actually fit through the hole in the bottom arm.

Because the ball joints are brand new too I thought there must be a manufacturing problem with them. Luckily I've kept the old ball joints in a box, so tried sliding one of them through with no joy atall!

Anyone else had any troubles like this? It's about 1mm diameter too small. Would it be safe to just drill this out very gradually?

Cheers

um you do have the right arm on the right side dont you? - the hole where the ball joint goes in is tapered... like \/ - if you have them the wrong way around then they will be like /\ and the pin wont fit through...

Yeah, well it all lines up and the tie bars attach to the bottom arms, and that can only go one way.

EDIT:
Hang on a mo, no. It can go the opposite way. Will check this tomorrow. Muppet of the year award goes to... :shifty:

I would double check there on the right was round as they can be fitted backwards, thus the odd shaped hole wont work as they are sided.

They can only be fitted on the wrong side because they are adjustable though...

All bottom arms can be fitted on the wrong side if you aren't careful. They are all handed because of the taper pin.
