they need to have the write pcd. (the wheel nut spacing).
from 'ARForums'
Rover Mini 4 x 101.6 58.6
Which is the distance between the opposite wheel nuts.. (I think!)

its not so much the rims you will have a problem with, its the knock offs that you will have a problem finding the right bolt pattern for the mini, ie. they will have to custom make some knock offs for you to fit the mini
yes it can be done because i have seen some wire wheels on a mini before, my homie had some made for his mini, i think he got 100spoke, all gold and he got 13's also
but he had them made in california and shipped over, but since we have apo post boxes from the states, we don't have to pay any of the import taxes/duties like you guys have to
i want to get some all black spoke wire rims for mine but thats later on down the road, but im thinking about 14's tho

look up a company called bling rims they are in the uk and do everything for wires and fitting. you can get 4 stud adapters for the wires as i had them when i had wires on my mk1 caddy and escort van. they were about 80-90 quid for the 4 adapters and about 70 for the knock offs.

bling rims is where I got mine
Get the 101.6 pcd and not the 4x100 they tell you will "fit"
