does anyone else know much about working at a base camp or even camp one? ie thing you could do to help out or any websites for getting out there? i reckon i could climb to the camp one which is about 6,000m but couldnt make base advance base camp or camp 2,3 or 4 (death zone) are way too high for me lol. my small but growing fast beer/food belly would be my first problem :)

Mount Kilimanjaro is another one of many i would love to afford to climb too

I'll give you a wave when you get to the Downfall, I can see Kinder from me upstairs window :)

We had a lot of snow today especially on the hills but, it seems to be thawing slowly at the mo'. It's not given any more over the weekend so you should be fine.

Are you ice climbing on the Downfall? Used to go up and watch peeps climing the frozen waterfall :D

Paul.

I think it would be nigh on impossible to land a paid trip to Everest, unless you have specialised skills, such as medicine. Apart from anything else the local labour is just too cheap. Plenty of people do trek in the area and the infrastructure is good enough to do it off your own bat, trekking from tea house to tea house.

I've got friends who've done Killi, I could ask them for some info if you like?

Sad about the guys on the Ben. It wasn't a good day to be in the gullies, but we don't know the details and they may have just been unlucky enough to be crossing under one when it let go.

So who else wears crampons? - I said crampons

No mate, if only. If it's the one I'm thinking of, (clipper blue?), then it's my old maths teachers Morris.

Been snowing again today. Not so much settled lower down but the hills look freshly white again.

Paul.
