Hey all,

I've got a bit further along now. As in the previous post, I've removed the N/S sill and I've now dressed that and also cleaned up the N/S floor.

I have also just removed the rear valance, and cleaned the rear N/S arch.

The factory under seal gets everywhere when using the wire attachement on my angle grinder!

Anyway, time for pics;

I'm looking forward the welding part now, it really feels like your getting somewhere when your welding fresh metal on, especially big panels like the sill and valvance, just need to get the welder off a friend and then I can crack on.

Thanks for looking, Andy.

I have got a question for you all, which way round do the rear brake shoes go?

Thanks for your interest, Andy.

Excellent work. I like the red drums, I was thinking of doing the same but I`m unsure.

Cheers mate. Yeh I was a bit unsure at first, but i needed a bit of colour as the body is gonna be OE white and thought blue or yellow wouldnt really go to well.

Ah right I see, mine is grey with a black roof so I`m adding bits of red here and there to break it up a bit.

Hey all,

Quick update, I've done some more to the inner sill and the arch, one step closer to getting the sill back on.

Anyway pics;

I should have taken a before photo of the sill, I have cut out six holes in the inner sill, and then welded up the three of them, the other three are still visable in the above photo.

Thanks for your interest,

Andy.

Hey all,

I managed to do a bit more, I've done the last three holes in the sill aswell as a patch where the outer sill meets the front inner flitch and the brackets for the sill to attach to.

Please ignore the multi coloured sill, its weld through primer (grey) where the sill will be welded to, I want to paint underseal still before I weld the sill on.

I have also stripped and cleaned the alternator and striped and painted the rear subframe trunions.

Hi,

Body comming on nicely, keep it up.

Never thought of cleaning out the alternator !! Interesting but think I will just do the outside of mine. Lots of crap in there by the look of it. Comming on nicely and like the trunions.

I was amazed at how much had come out of the alternator and how filthy the contacts and diodes were!!!

Its a good feeling knowing the rusty parts are being removed, and nice shiney metal is replacing it.

I've stripped the steering column and replaced the bushes along with a clean, forgot to take photos of before and during unfortunately.

Hi Andy,

did you just clean up the insides and middle bit from the altenator and put back together, or replace parts??

Cleaned as much as I could of everything. I checked and greased the bearing the one end.

Andy.
