You may wish to do two things.

First, (assuming this car will be used on the street and not on the track) consult local laws about whether what you are planning is legal based on safety regulations.

Second, for the tank itself, you may wish to contact a shop that makes fuel cells for race cars. They should be able to make your custom tank along with custom filler necks and such.

Crazy to set the tank so high up - you want it low down and well inboard. I used a horizontal tank fixed low down in the boot - against the back seat. Filler was inside the boot - it was a 1275 Elf Cooper S !

cheers. want it road legal so your right, id better speak with the old bill bout it. spoke with mot testers about it and all they have mentioned is the tank needs to be behind a firewall, so i reckon it should be ok.

bmcecosse- ive chopped the floor out to allow for a diff. i spose i could have it sat on/round it tho to keep it low as possible.

There a link to the IVA manual pinned at the front of the forum. From what I understand you will be ok as it will be inside the vehicle structure. It also needs to be metal, if not slavaged from a production car.

check out Ebay, Demon Tweeks, Ears Motorsport...
