I'm in the early stages of a restoration and I'm gathering required items. I'm wondering if there is a fix for scratches in the sind windows glass. It appears to be from rolling them up and down.

Or, should I just buy new?

Thanks.
Tom

Wouldn't have thought so, they will be pieces of metal embedded into the glass.

What you've done there is burned little bits of rust into the surface of the glass. You'll never get it back perfect but get an electric paint polisher and some cutting compound, then t-cut and you might get it something like. Dunking the whole lot in weak acid overnight before you polish will help too.

I did this, but maybe to not such a bad degree because i just scraped the rough bits off with a scraper and polished with Tcut and it was good to go. Phew :xxx:

My windscreen has a few scratches too and has anyone tried this little gizmo?: -

Mine is laminated, so would it be suitable?

One of my friends used that kit on an MGB which all have laminated screens, it worked well & Frost's have been selling it for years & my impression of them is that they would not do so if it was ineffective.
