just bought a complete low mileage 1275 metro and plan to fit its engine into my mini, however the clutch is cable opperated, is it a straight forward conversion? or do i need any parts to convert? i have my 998 engine which is hydraulic opperated, could i just swap the clutch covers over? both are fitted with verto clutches.

cheers

Just swap the hydraulic parts over onto the replacment engine. the clutch cover and release bearing, hydraulic cylinder, push rod and clevis pins should all be checked for wear before transferring, especially the pins and the ball on the bottom of the clutch arm. Lubricate the release bearing plunger with light grease. Check the driven plate for wear.
