Started the restoration of a Mini Park Lane and although getting ahead of ourselves i want to make sure we can finish with something as near the original as possible. Problem is that the wheel trims on the car are not complete and hence i need to find somewhere i can get some from. I believe these trims were on a number of limited eddition models around the time such as Mayfair and Designer. Can anyone help?

But the Mini Mayfair (which was a standard mainstream model and not a limited edition) got the same type of wheel trims from October 1985 up to October 1988 and to be honest the silver lacquer was sometimes prone to peeling off. Possibly because Rover didn't apply it properly?

And going by that hub cap part number it seems that X-Part only have it in white too. But again you could respray that silver too.

But I made the mistake of having them fit a glass sunroof which meant it leaked water a fair bit.
Their now a very rare model and it'd be great to see one get restored.

From the picture, it looks like they a need different type of wheel nut to hold them on.
I reckon the pictured Park Lane has the one piece push on wheel trim.

SC Parts Group also list those

Yes the wheel nuts fitted around that time had a plastic washer attachment to keep the plastic wheel trims held in place. The Mini Park Lane LE didn't have a one piece push on wheel trim, it's just the image is small and not clear.
You can see more of the original brochure via this site: -

There you will see it has a seperate wheel trim cap. The Mini Mayfair (plus a few Limited Edition Minis) didn't get the one piece push on plastic wheel trim until October 1988.

These are the later push on (not held in place by the wheel nuts) type of wheel trims with no wheel trim cap as fitted to the Mini models from October 1988 and into the 1990's: -

If you can find that picture I'd very much appreciate it.No problem and believe it or not I actually bought a brand new Mini Park Lane LE from a local Austin Rover dealer back in March 1987. I've still got photo's of it somewhere and it was a cracking car and very reliable.

Bought it for my 15 year old to learn about the workings of a car whilst rebuilding, similarly to what I did with an Alegro (many years ago). Wasn't sure initially how we wee going to restore but have decided we want to get it as near as we can to the original. Interior seats etc in reasonable condition. bodywork needs quite a bit of work but i've seen worse. Attached a few pictures, not the best but give an idea

Don't be daft I'm not superior, I've just been around and I did own one of these fine examples once upon a time too.

Well as long as the shell is relatively sound and hasn't been twisted or deformed in an accident, then you should be fine. My current Mini has had a new front end including new a'panels, plus new inner and outer sills.
Keep an eye on e-Bay for elusive trim bits, because many rare items turn up there from time to time.
Anyway keep us up to date with your progress, don't get put off by the bad weather because there's nothing like having fun in a Mini during the Summer.
