Wow... I didnt get very far stripping the gearbox now need a deep 1/1.5 socket, a 1/1.8th socket, and a bearing puller... and everywhere is closed now

Well apart from halfords, which when I asked if they had them in stock I got the responce... "we dont do Imperial"

Also asked Toolstation..

Me: "do you stock these sockets?"
Bob: "certainly.. would you like white screwless, chrome or nickel?"
Me: "what!?! hand tools sockets.. not electrical sockets!"
Bob: " Oh, we dont sell sockets."
Me: "why are you called TOOLstation then?"

Anybody got any ideas?

Right.. ordered both sockets from Teng and a nice bearing puller yesterday... and.... My new Diff from Minispares just now! Thanks Gavin!

Excellent attention to detail.

Its good to see someone making lots of bits themselves, I always prefer to make my own stuff rather than buy it.

If you're having a flip front i recon you could make CF brace bars.

Thanks very much Its much more satisfying to make it myself than buy it.

Carbon brace bars is a nice idea, could get some carbon tube and bond in threads for rose joints.

What shells this going in?

Iv got a 87 Shell that Iv had for 6 years now, needs a little welding and afew mods, which will be left to Mintec to do

The shell will be Audi Abis White, with exposed weave bonnet, roof, bootlid, and rear bumper. All the outher carbon will be painted. I have some 10 x 7 Spectrums that will have metallic Bronze centres and a polished lip, not sure what arches yet.. would like W+P's but not think they quite cover them

Ahh i see :/ What brake did it kick out before it went bang?
Is that the Sw10?

I dont know what power it made, I dont think he had it on the rollers.

Yeh its the SW10 cam, should make an interesting idle

Got afew nice packages today, the MED back plate, bolts, flywheel bolt, a weber AN4 adapter and some bearing pullers

yeah never had it on the rollers, although probley had around 70bhp at the flywheel, was a great little engine for the time it lasted! At least the the cam is living on!
