That head looks stunning, and should be awesome with the rest of the engine.
Really looking forward to seeing it all come together.
On another note i think i saw you at gurston the other week but didn't get a chance to say hi.
Nice work on Jim White's mini, you weren't joking about it looking different, carbon aero bits look great.

Thanks very much.. Im very proud of it :0 just about to paint the red bits black to go with the rest of the engine.. I knw red adds 10hp.. but looks crap with a black block.

Ah right.. yeh I was at Gurston both days, which day were you there? We we're helping the Masters and Jim.. we're very pleased with Jim's Mini :mrcool:.. looks and goes brilliantly. Seems like the got the balance about right, as he was able to go flat through Hollow and no sliding :dontgetit:

Yeah will all look good in black. With the cf fan and ram pipe it'll look real mean.
Was there on the Sunday. Yeah it definitely goes great and looks awesome.
Got quite a few pictures on my camera but haven't managed to upload them yet.
It's good to see the results of the testing at MIRA in practice.
As you say looks like it's working really well.

The head looks real sinister now, love it.
Look forward to seeing these other carbon goodies.
Will try and find my cable and some batteries and make a thread to put the pictures in.

aye, not much progress with my rebuild either, still gathering parts at the mo, got my hands on a MS ultralight backplate and flywheel, also finished work on my cylinder head, all ported out nicely for good flow. Im in the progress of die grinding my block pockets, saving up for a Kent 276 cam kit, will be a tad lumpy on idle in a 998 but not too bad, good mid power.
have decided I just cant afford a lightened crank, so sticking to standard

Bit of an update..

Been doing a tad of shopping and work on the engine.

The engine now has a SW10 instead of the SW5 thanks to racerpete =] fits nicely and a good endfloat. Just been trying to fit the timing gears and found the Crank gear is sitting 18thou higher than the cam gear, so thats off to see our engineer tomorrow to get a bit machined off so they are level. Then I can get the cam timed in.

Also been working on the ignition system. I using a PoleStar ECU, which uses a timing disk and a magnetic sensor instead of the megajolt trigger wheel. So Neil Turner of PoleStar kindly dropped off a timing disk and sensor for me to mock up on the engine. Iv got to make a bracket for the sensor, so Iv designed a nice ally tube and carbon shape :w00t:

Iv also been working on a couple of carbon projects on the engine, I finished a pair of carbon tappet chest cover afew months ago that look spot on, also made, the U shaped bracket that holds the bottom of the rad cowling to the engine mount and now working on a rocker cover and timing gears case, they are coming along beautifully and when they are done il get some pictures up.

Went to order some rockers from Swiftune afew weeks ago to find they'd sold out! So Im waiting for them to come back in stock and then the head can go on :P

I brought a new camera, so Iv been taking lots of photos.. so Il get them up soon :dontgetit:

More soon!
Ben
