If wet - you know there is fuel going in and it's lack of sparks that's the problem. If dry - you know it's lack of fuel! Basic first check.

If they are all wet that means the fuel is getting through ok, dry them off and re-try as it could be flooded with fuel and wont spark.

To check the if there's a spark, take one of the spark plugs out, but keep the HT lead on it. Hold it against the block (obviously not touching the metal), and get someone to turn the engine over on the key. You should see it sparking if it's working properly.

To check if there's petrol coming through, I find it easiest to just unscrew the jubilee clip holding the fuel line from the pump, into the carb. undo that and then turn the engine over for a split second.
You should see petrol come through the pipe. Put down a load of paper towelling first or direct the pipe somewhere that's not going to cover your manifold etc. for obvious reasons.

Yes but that only means fuel is getting to the carb, not the cylinders.

fair point, but at least it means there's not a fuel blockage between the tank and the carb.

sorry, just hold the spark plug by the HT lead (don't touch the metal yourself I meant) and rest it against the engine block to earth it.

id say its possibly coil related then, or something in the distributor, have you left the ignition on for a while, such as sitting in it listening to the radio??

Sounds like it is battery related, have you charged it up properly? What voltage do you have?
