This is my car, Caroline:
Posted Image
It was previously valued by guessworks at around £1500.
I was wandering whether the car would be worth more if it was completely standard?
ie if I changed the wheels to standard steels with hub caps?
If so then what would the value of the minilites be?
Black, 12x5.5 i think
Price with/without tyres please

At car shows I've seen them advertised from anything from £75 a set (in need of refurb) to about 200 including brand new tyres.

Ebays not bringing up a lot atm, I'll keep checking though.

I don't think the black wheels detract from the value, and putting the std wheels on wouldn't either, so if you have them available then you could enhance your return by swapping them over. If someone is interested in the car then you have the option of offering them a set of black alloys as an extra...

Personally I like the black alloys on the car, they don't look out of place and are in keeping with the original styling of the vehicle..

I have steel wheels but no hubcaps, so would need to buy them from somewhere.
The thing is, I need a set of tyres for my old car, the same size that are on the alloys. (would cost about £200 otherwise)
So I wanted to keep the tyres, sell the car with the steels on and sell the rims seperately.
Worth doing or do you think I should leave it as is?
Thanks for your reply, appreciate it.

Leave it as-is, it looks fine.

Wheels/ tyres don't really affect value, it's when people 'de-seam' or put flip fronts on their cars that alters the value negatively.

Thanks boycie.
So it wouldn't make a difference if I took the alloys off then?
I could sell them seperately.

the difference is next to nothing.
the alloys will help it sell easier but wont really increase the cars value

Probably not.. you could fuss about swapping wheels around but it's only unneccessary hassle for a few extra pennies!!

it's not a few extra pennies, it saves me buying 4 new tyres for my other project.
I have literally no money!
It'll be a while yet I think, got to get the other project MOTable first
