hello i'm a self employed mini specialist, i've been working with minis for over 12 years, i have the opertunity to move to a larger unit in "coventry" i can do all types on mini suspesion repair/modification, i specialise in mini restoration & body repair/repaint, front arch mods for 13" rims, rear turrets for coilovers, modding the rear subby into a copy of the ST rear beam for coilovers, in the future i'm not 100% about moving from where i am as i dont know if there much interest in coventry & the surrounding area in specialist mini repairs of all types, tuning, engine swaps, standard reconditioned gearbox's with a choice of diffs, crosspin/lsd, i dont do straight cut at the moment, thats pending a reply from a gear supplier, unleaded conversions etc etc

if i relocate where i'm working to a new unit my overheads will be small so i'm aiming to be cheap as chips as the mad dickinson says! basicly i'm starting up on my own to be my own boss

i personally own 3 minis including a stripped/caged/lightend/strengthend turbocharged track toy of 468kg & 164bhp let me know by reply PM if your interested asap so i can decide if i should relocate

cheers

Not that I'm adverse to a little competition, but this area is a bit of a hot bed for mini specialists...

I'm in Rugby, but soley deal in gearboxes.
Jonspeed are in Nuneaton who do pretty much everything.
Roofless is in Coventry but not sure how much 'mechanical' work he does.
Southam Mini & Metro Centre is not far
Smart Performance in Tamworth

I think there's another mini place in Coventry but can't remember for the life of me what they are called.

and if you widen the field to include Leicester, Northampton and Birmingham... you could quite easily be 1 of 100..

But there's nothing wrong with giving the masses an alternative, good luck

a said above theres a few places that specialise in gearboxes and engine rebuilds
you could do well for body repairs and stuff, but at the end of the day its down to whether you have the time, money and patient to make a good go of it

i'm a welding/bodywork/resto type of chap, i dont mind MOT welding repairs as i do them as they should be done, the other stuff like engines/box's etc i can do just because i've done it all on my own minis & a couple of other british classics, obviously you cant setup without any work so i wanted to gaauge interest 1st!! this is no quest to be a millionare LOL

people of coventry & the close surrounding area would'nt need to travel (cost) to other areas for work to be done basicly
