Yeah i think it'll probably have to be next year for me too for L2B, should be good.
Forgot about MITP definitely be there too.
Good plan, yeah i'm sure you'll get her finished for riv run, once work starts you'll soon start making good progress.
Fingers crossed the work needed isn't too bad.

Interior wise i'm trying to decide between the speedwells or just go with the standard cubs, then try and locate one of the proper kangol fixed belts for me and keep inertia reel for the pasenger side. Then rear seat cover in vinyl to match the fronts.
Dash rails un covered leaving body colour (as they are now)
With a bit of work i want to run a form of the mk1 switch panel, trying to decide whether i want to go to the effort of changing to an early column and run mk1 cowl and indicator stalk aswell so have the wiper switch and the ignition in the switch panel. the downsides being, single speed wipe, no steering lock and a lot more work but i really would like to have the ignition there.
Then flush fit works dash panels, obviously will need some more extras to have switches for, and some gauges and if i can stretch to it a couple of rally stopwatches

Lots of tweaks still to come as although he's definitely pretty retro now, he's not quite rally enough yet.
Looking forward to this part of the project as it involves searching for all those nice original parts
Took some interior pictures this morning so hopefully have those up this evening for you.

Very groovy mods done on the car. Looks that little bit different - plus the colour's great!
Top job

I developed a bit of a misfire at idle yesteday after work, i had a bit of this before that was due to to the vacuum pipe not being connected, doh. When i got home i had a look and the tube was attatched and there was no blockages.
So i checked my plugs which were fine and gapped correctly, so i decided to start it and see if it was still there which it was.
Then the engine cut out all together and wouldn't start again, now i'd replaced the dizzy cap, rotor arm and coil not long before i took him off the road so was guessing these were still fine. And due to the year of the engine, it is electronic ignition so no points or anything. So i made sure all of the ignition leads were ok and attached properly which they were gave it a go and nothing.
While scratching my head i noticed a puddle had formed on the floor under the engine, this turned out to be petrol.
I managed to locate the source to be the carb breather. So i guessed it was the float that was at fault and must've been stuck.
So off with the carb, and the float bowl cover and lo and behold the float has a leak and is no longer a float, more of a sink.
I've ordered a replacement off of minispares so just hope it comes soon so i can get him up and running again
Happy days

if you want i have the old works dash panels from the bean that im not using, along with some kangol statics out the mk2... you dont need to worry about single speed wipers when changing to mk1 switch panel, just use a headlight switch for the wipers too, that way you can have two speed!
