Today had two big boxes turn up with my mk1 grill kit, yokohama A008's , and bonnet straps.
All look very good and great quality.

Didn't get much done on Healy today as i've got exams tomorrow, wednesday and thursday.
-Had another go at getting the pot joints out to no avail.
-Also had a go at realligning the LCB also to no avail.
Currently it's sitting too close to the pot joint and knocks the clip off and ruins the boot.
Should be getting a maniflow LCB it's on backorder from minispares.
They said it would come through mid january but no news as of yet.

Putting the new track rod ends on was about all i got done really.

Took the sportspacks off of the front to have a look at what would need to be done before i could fit the group 2's.
No rust to speak of but to fit the 13's on the previous owner cut the bodywork, no surprise there,
But they had cut up to the edge of where the sportpacks fit all the way round, Wasn't the neatest of jobs either.
Anyway as the cut was made so large across the A-panels and the wings the amount of metal to go back in is fairly substantial.
So i think the decision is to weld repairs on from new panels to get the arches back to where they need to be and make sure they still clear the new wheels.

Anyway here are some photo's of how he looks now, a bit sorry for himself.

Front getting ready for new grill need to get a spotweld drill bit to get the bonnet lip off.

Cheers Ed.
My first car was a H too, although a '90 and not a mini.
Got be happy with your two though a mk3 then a mk2, have to get a mk1 next.
Look forward to seeing the mk2 rebuild progressing, by the sounds of it and from your work on the bean it will be awesome.
Thanks i'm really happy with the colour when i first started looking for mini's i wanted one in OEW but saw the maroon and loved it.

Well unfortunately it's going to be a fairly anti climactic update today.
Had an exam this morning which didn't go to well.
When i got home a royal mail van was outside and the bloke was delivering a couple of parcels.
My wheels :techsupport:
So here they are

Posted Image

So far so good as discussed 6x10 GB's
That's 2 of the six now the other four.

Doh, 6x10 Minilights. Bit dissapointed but hey ho.
As i need to get the wheels done asap these are going to go on and i will be on the lookout for another 4 GB's in the future got a few other things that i need to spend on right now so that will have to wait.
Anyway the minilights will be stripped back as the paint is peeling and i will be repainting and laquering them.
Trying to decide between silver and OEW any opinions appreciated.
Also if anyones got any tips for stripping the wheels back without sandblasting then that yould be much apreciated.
Will be getting some prices tommorrow for sandblasting so we'll see.

On other news spoke to minispares today and my maniflow stage 2 LCB is on it's way now.
Should be a better fit and have a couple less dents than the one that's on there now.

Not got anything done today due to madly revising for exams tomorrow and thursday.
Hopefully get a bit more done friday through to sunday.
Aiming to get all of the suspension and brakes done over the weekend.
And make some templates up for the arch repairs to work out the quantity of steel needed.

A bit gutting about the wheels dude, I bet the mini lights will look good when they are restored though! Got to love those GB's though, looking forward to seeing them on the car. Silver alloys always look good but if you want something different go with the OEW. Maybe OEW will look nice if the roof goes the same colour.

Good luck with you exams anyway!

Yeah it's a shame but the minilights should look good for the moment once they are refurbed.
How they mixed them up i don't know but oh well. Hopefully be able to find another set of 4 GB's eventually.
I was thinking the same myself as far as the roof and wheels if i go OEW.
Although i don't know whether it will suit with the colour.
For the moment i think silver is going to be the winner.

Cheers mate hopefully get through these exams alright.

It'll be easier to get two more 6x10 Mini Lights as they are stillavailable new. GBs do come up, but not often.

Glad you finally made a project thread for him

I look forward to watching Healy's change

Good luck Tim

Thanks Heather,
How's Henny going at the moment?

Henny's having her welding done atm, I've not seen her since 22nd December 2009 O_O Her footwell is worse than I originally thought, so fingers crossed she's economically viable :techsupport:

Cheers Jordan, Yeah i'd been waiting till the minispares ones were back in stock as they look very good quality.
Looking forward to getting them on but a few jobs to do untill then unfortunately.

It'll be easier to get two more 6x10 Mini Lights as they are stillavailable new. GBs do come up, but not often.

You're not wrong, the rarity of the GB's was part of the reason i wanted them :dozing:
Once i get the minilights finished i'll probably end up sticking with them.
Just if a set of GB's comes up and i've got the money then it'd be nice to have them.
Although knowing me i'd probably buy the GB's then decide i prefer the minilights anyway.

Henny's having her welding done atm, I've not seen her since 22nd December 2009 Her footwell is worse than I originally thought, so fingers crossed she's economically viable

:dozing: you must be really missing her.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the repairs come in on budget.
And Henny's definitely worth it.

On other news Aparently Healy's new manifold has arrived today not seen it yet but something to look forward to through work this evening.
Will hopefully be able to get some pictures when i get home. Camera's been a bit temperamental recently hence the poor quality of pictures.
No sign of the steering wheel as of yet so might give the guy a message to make sure my payment went through ok.

I am missing her  *grabs fistful of tissues*

Thanks Tim :ermm: Toes as well? :dozing: Well I dunno about Henny being worth it :P She's a long way off my plans I had for her, but there we go, one step at a time :dozing: Footwell and bootfloor first :ermm:

Aww she'll be ok.
Toes? goes without saying.
Yes i think one step at a time is the way to go.
I think it's getting a mix do these bits then get a couple of shiny new bits to go on. :)

Haha. Yeah i think the minilights are going to look good finished up.
Putting more ideas in my head haha
I think if i do the wheels OEW the arches need to be body colour.
Thinking about it i think that's what i'm going to do!
Genius

Manifold arrived today aswell and looks very good will get some pictures up in a bit.

It's a stage 2 LCB from maniflow to replace my current one that has some hefty speed bump dents and is sitting on my pot joint so if i fit the new one it will just rip the boot straight off. Hopefully this one will be a better fit.

Tomorrow afternoon is my last exam for this week so should be able to get back to work Healy friday.
