Thank you James ;D
Will try to keep this updated a bit more than i have been and get more pictures as i go too.

Today I managed to get a bit more done between uni and work nearly completed welding the repairs on the drivers side
Here's a picture of what i've done so far. It's my first real go at car body welding apart from practice. Starting to get there :P
By the way the A-Panel had been ground down yesterday so i could se what bits needed a bit more work a bit clearer. which is why it looks a bit more sparse of welds.

Posted Image

Next step is forming the lip which i will hopefully get done tomorrow along with grinding the welds down and sorting any bit's i've missed. Might even get a bit of etch primer on. :o
Re assesed the rear arches aswell as i was planning on adding repairs to mount the arches. On second inspection they are very close to fitting so with a bit of effort they should go on good enough without having to do any welding.

Took a couple of pictures of the front suspension and brakes too need to get and tighten the hub nut up properly then i can get and fit my pads, attatch the brake lines and bleed them up.

I'm getting very excited about everything now, Can't wait to drive him again and to see the result of my work ;)

Cheers Ed can't wait to get and test it all out.
Booked in with icklemini on here to get all the geometry and corner weighting done to make the most of it :genius:

It's raining today so can't get anymore welding done which is a pain.
Going to take my wheels to get my tyres fitted this afternoon though ;)
And been doing a bit of paint prep on bonnet, arches and boot too might see if i can get a layer of primer on the bonnet before i go to get the tyres fitted.
Yep got the maroon ready to go on hopefully the match is going to be ok.
Bit daunted by the spraying as it will be my first go with a proper spray gun but i'll have a little practice first and hopefully i'll get on ok. I haven't got anywhere i can get indoors to spray it so not expecting it to be perfect just hoping it'll look alright for the moment :)
Hopefully after summer i'll be able to afford to sort it all out properly and get a full respray so everything matches nicely and will be up to scratch.

Will get some photo's of the wheels with tyres fitted when i get back this evening. :dontgetit:

Thanks Heather seems like i'm actually getting somewhere with him now, any news on Henny?
Cheers rick hopefully they will work as good as they look.

Well got a bit more done today, the rain held off for a little bit before i needed to leave for work so managed to grind the welds back and form the lip. With the welds dressed back there are a few gaps that will need going over aswell.
The forecast is rain till sunday  but hopefully they will have got it wrong and i'll get to do some more done tommorow.
Heres a couple of pictures with the lip bent up.

Went to get my tyres fitted this afternoon before work.
Really happy with them. I'd have some pictures but imanged to drop my camera and break the screen
Will see if can borrow my dad's for further updates although that's probably unlikely so i'll keep an eye out for a cheap camera.

Cheers mate.
Hopefully get some more pictures soon will try and pick up a new camera tomorrow with my no money,
Managed to take a picture on my dads camera with one of the new wheels in place to get an idea of how they go together.
Will try and get it off of his camera without him noticing that i've used it.
I finished welding the drivers arch and lip up and etch primered. I will give it a skim of filler tomorrow to sort some of the edges.
And start on the other side, hopefully get the repair pieces fully formed at least so that i can get started on welding them up sunday. :shifty:

Did have a go with the camera guessing but with no real luck it's a bit temperamental and all the settings are shown on the screen :) Can get a new screen for £20 which might be the way i go. Certainly cheaper than a new camera.

Cheers Scott, been putting as much time in as possible on it really can't wait to drive him again.
Start reaping all the benefits of the new parts :)
Just got to keep hoping for good weather.

Today got a bit of filler on the drivers side arch this evening i'll get on with sanding and arches and drilling and sanding my boot this evening so they will be ready for paint.

No, Henny hasn't had any work done to her yet :) Lad who's welding her for me is doing her as a job on the side to his garage job, and he's welding my mate's mini before he starts on Henny :) Gonna be a while before I get her back, but it's necessary.

Should be a nice reunion when you get her back though.

Had a couple of good days here wich has been good for progress.
Will definitely be ready for L2B haven't sent my application off yet due to money shortage though so not sure whether i'll manage to get a ticket but will be sending it off monday hopefully and keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully see you there in Ellie aswell have to hope that Actually hoping to have it back on the road by the end of next week, maybe a bit ambitious though doing a load of jobs at once at the moment. Will be more changes as money replenishes. Should be at brooklands too which should be a good day out.
