First the shot in the dark question.

The local motorfactors can mix Cellulouse paint but can only do "RAL" colours. I need to get Flame Red 89. is it just a case of looking at the paint chips or would anyone know the nearest Ral colour, I am really bad at matching colours and dont want to make a hash.

On the last mini project I had terrible problems with the paint reacting with one of the primers or the topcoat.

Bearing in mind everything in Rattle Cans seems to be acrylic now what sorts of paints should I avoid mixing together so there is not a re-run of the same problems. As above I am likely to use Celly as a topcoat

Cheers

Flame red is awkward anyway.

Theres 2/3 different shades of it

Find someone who will colour match it to your car. Trying to match a RAL shade will never look right.

Not sure if anyone else sells celly over here, so it will either need to be mail order, or find the nearest colour I can get

More investigation required!

Am I right to say acrylic will be ok under and over celly or is it not that simple?

like sir shifty said you wnt get a good match trying to get an RAL (german standard) colour toi match a bs (british standard) or bl (british leyland) one as for acrylic on celly... what is it that you are spraying? is it acrylic primer your spraying?
celly will be fine over this alot of people have reactions with different types of paint and blame it on all sorts of things like silicone, oil, paint types but alot of the time its the fact that people shelack the paint on so thick on a first coat it wets up prewvious layers of paint below that have bin dormant for years and it will react.

search for RAL Farben you will find colour cards and also BS for RAL codes.
RAL was for Geman Machine and Building industrie norm, it has now been overhauled to NCS which has all colours.
