Hi all, Before anybody inevitably asks, yes I have done a search and can't find anything:(

Basically Ive looked on the internet for powder coaters nearby and I can only find them in Birmingham! Its not a big problem but if there are any closer to me then that would be useful to know.

Secondly, can anybody give me a rough idea as to how much it would cost to powder coat a rear subframe, and is it actually worth doing at all?

Thanks in advance!! :goaway:

This may help it may not, but I had four wheels acid dipped and powder coated and was charged £25 each cash. So if you can imagine the worked involved to do four wheels against a subframe you may be able to get a rough guess.

What I will advise is the place I had my wheels done, didn't do a very good job. They didn't completely remove all the rust before powder coating, therefore the coating is flaking off already, just 6 months after doing the job. So I won't recommend the company in Birmingham I went to!

May be a good idea to let them show you their process before agreeing to part with your cash, as I'd hate you to get the same problem as me especially on a subframe. :goaway:

EDIT: About the subframes, i got quoted about £50 each.. Havent done it yet as the mini is a long way off finished..

A down side maybe that it might rust underneath the powder coating, and not be noticeable until its too far gone.. (It's also difficult to touch up) but i'm sure if there fine before you start you shouldn't have a problem.

i get my subframes done for £25 each to be shotblasted and coated whatever colour, exotic colours obviously costs more as the powder does. but i have been going there for along time now.. powdercoating is brilliant for mini subframes but like stated above only if the rust is removed and that its done properly. ive only ever sent new subframes for coating so.... heres 2 back ones ive had done..

Subframes should be around fifty quid each or so.

Cheers Ross.
