Hey

Can anyone help! My heated rear window is not working! I kinda need it given the pants weather we're all experiencing at the moment.. I was wondering if it is as simple as changing a fuse or switch! Has this happened to anyone else?!

Thank you!! :D

It's probably damaged elements? I have only "one" element working and when looking closely at the others I can see tiny breaks probably done when cleaning the back window? I have bought a repair kit which is basically some silver type paint and a template - Link
PS - I have not got around to trying it yet but will post results when I do :D

Hi.. I have just had to repair my heated rear screen. There was only 2 bars working out of the 5 I think it is. I got some silver paint from this old car shop. Called Electro Connector. It was £10 but it was well worth it!! There is most probably a connection problem. When I looked closley at mine, where it plugs in (where the lead attatches to the screen) it was alkl corroded there and nasty. As soon as I put the paint on it worked fine again. If there is a crack then the connection won't be made so it just results in the screen not working.

Try putting some of the paint on it, if it doesn't work then you might not have any power to the back screen. Make sure you have power though first before you buy the paint!!
Let us know how you get on.
Hope this helps
Alex :D

Haha :) I haven't .. but you get a little template in the box to help you!
Good job I didn't have to use it on the thin lines. It was on the bigger area by the plug that had gone so I was lucky.
I never knew they sold it in Halfors!
Still it was only £10 :P

Nice.. Thanks for all yor quick responses! There is power going to the rear window which is good but i also have tiny breaks so its probably that like you said! I cant see any corrosion around the car-to-window connectors so ill buy some of that magic pant and try that out for size! Thanks again for your help peoples :D
