Hello all! I have a 1990 Mini 1000, with electronic ignition that we have just installed. New coil as well. What I need help with is timing. Either with or with out a timing light. What to time it to and some tips on how to do it. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

depends on the rest of the spec, but standard timing for a 998 is normally around 8 btdc degrees at 1500 rpm with vac advance tube disconnected.

What would it need to be advanced to? does it even need to be advanced? Everything else on the car is standard, only the points were upgraded to electronic and a new coil.
