I have the Alloy Retro one from that list - I like it, looks cool, and is a good shape to hold.

I promised myself the gear knob would be the very last thing I'd put on my Mini when it was "Finished".

The way things are progressing I might be asking the nurse at the old folks home to put it on for me...

{decrees instant ban on "nurse, turn my knob" jokes}

Do people find metal gear knobs really cold in winter?

My car is kept warm tucked up in the garage, and we dont have snow, ice etc so it is never that cold. I did notice it hot today - day was about 23c and the car had been closed in the sun for 4 hours.

In regards to the heat... In my mates old Peugeot he had an alloy gear knob but also had a small cover that went on (not sure if someone made it for him)

I made myself an ally dice about 2" square. It is cold but i don't know about you i don't have my hand on it for very long during a shift. I find it soon heats up with the heater going.
