hmmm as you are living in new zeland, not sure if you have a homebase or B&Q so i would suggest a DIY store im sure theyld sell itIm looking for some kind of walnut transfer / film to go over a dashboard Im working on. anyone know where I can get that sort of thing from?

just boils down to how much you want to spend, and how good a quality of finish you want.

I want to make the dash out of a simple MDF but cover it in a walnut finish..
I had some sicker like stuff you heated at stuck down that I cant get anymroe((see attachec its around the gauges))

If you're planning on fitting a laminate to surfaces with compound curves then vinyl will certainly be easier. Be sure to post pictures of your dash when the project is completed.

For Dashboard application,I think you can take a try a method of"water transfer".
Unfortunately,we do another "heat transfer foil or hot stamping foil".

I did this with my old water damaged dashboard. I went to a local vinyl sign maker who found a suitable walnut design on the internet and downloaded it and printed it off. It looks fine and is a cheap fix until such time that I decide to replace with an original one in good condition.
