Bit of a weird question....has it been known for mini boots to pop open without assistance? I only ask, as earlier this morning (~10.30) I went out to notice that my boot was open. Not half an hour before, the boot was definitely not open. The handle was in the locked position with the locking 'bar' upright, as it should be if the boot was shut and locked properly. Apart from my boot now a bit wet, there appears to be no signs of damage or forced entry, however I think my toolbox has been pinched.

Im very confused! :dozing:

Has on my Hornet El Odio before.

Just driving allong, look out the back and notice a large grey part sticking up then realise it's the boot lid. Luckily I keep everything strapped down in my boot so no biggy.

I'd suggest checking you lock mech and catch over for odd bending or breaking.

Buuuuuuuuut, if you tool box is gone someone might have just opened it. As lock on a mini are more "Look, I have locks!" than a security measure.

In theory it could, it doesn't hook on to anything like the side doors. It'd still take a fair bit of effort tho flex the boot enough though.

As Ethel says, it could happen but it's extremely unlikely. With the latch closed, the bootlid is effectively bigger than the space it has to pass through to open. More likely that someone has forced your boot. The Elf/Hornet boot is completely different remember.
