Hey guys, i've owned my mini for a few months now and I still can't find a door mirror for it.
All im after is the bog standard black plastic one. Near/Side (Passenger door) however ebay is rather quiet for this sort of thing and there like £35 each new on minispares!!
I'm trying to keep the standard look, i really dont want to have to put a chrome set on =[ but i have to have a wing mirror when i start driving the mini next month.
Any advice where I could get one from would be much appretiated.
Thanks
Ben

try contacting the traders direct as they usually have 2nd hand parts for sale. i've had several bits from minimine in stoke-on-trent.

You mean you can find them but you don't want to pay what they cost. You live close enough to Mini Spares to be able to drvie there so you don't even have to pay for delivery, although it would probably cost more to drive. Well, tough. Things cost what they cost. Owning a car is expensive, Minis are cheap cars but they still cost money.

by the way, the Mini Spares copy of the genuine mirror is £17.00 and a VERY good copy of the original. They are pretty much identical, just in a slightly glossier plastic.

Moved to Mini Chat.

Cheers for moving the link Dan, sorry about posting this in the wrong section I'm still relatively new to the forum scene. Do you have a link to the mirror you are talking about mate?
Thanks
Ben

If it's the car in your avatar then no it's a direct replacement.

What year is your car? If it's after 1980, then, like gav said, the standard plastic mirror will fit directly... No need for fixing plates or else...

Get the kit, if possible : Minispares mirror kit
It's £30, but comes with both sides mirrors

Are the fixing holes just plain holes in the door? Or are they plugs blanking threaded holes? If the car was genuinely built without a mirror, as some were up until a surprisingly late date, they will be threaded. If the door skin has been replaced in the past they will probably be plain holes. If they are plain you need to have a pair of Rivnuts fitted in the skin. These are treaded tubular rivets fixed with a special tool.

By the way, no problem for putting things in the wrong place. We only move them for the sake of neatness, although I don't know who moved it again! And I hope I didn't offend you above, I didn't mean to but I just read my post again and it's a bit harsh.

Dan mate you got nothing to worry about, I would rather people were straight to the point with me because it lets everyone know whats happening. And to be perfectly honest with you your post made my day. I didn't realise they sold replicas on mini spares and on £30 a week EMA the key to life is budget.
On a slightly different note I wish there was a Bingly Hall market thingy happening closer to London =[
Back to the topic on hand,
Thanks for all the adive guys I will be purchasing the L/H replica mini from mini spares and will update if I have problems fitting!! LOL I know its only 2 blots.
Once again thanks for all the advice
Ben
