I currently live in Hawaii and I starting my mini restoration. I already fell like I am in over my head. The only hard part I think is getting the parts I will need. I think that it is a 1993 based on the date of the boot latch being stamped 0693. She is SPi. Other than that I don't know much about it. It had a 1.3 badge.
Well here she is. I have it named her yet.

Hello there!

Welcome to the mini forum! That is a gorgeous mini, how long have you had her? I think you should know the steering wheel is on the wrong side :P :) Heehee

Hawaii..very nice! I bet it's a bit different at the moment to how it is here in the UK! I hope you find TMF useful, have fun

Maybe you can answer a question. I found a sicker on the door frame that is blue with three triangles and it says MOT Expiry Date. It is penned May 22nd 2006. I have no Idea what this is. I am guessing something of a safety check. I am thinking that this was imported only a few years ago.

Wrong side... I agree. I still has the mounting holes from being RHD I need to do some research on what it would involve to convert it back to RHD.

Yes an MOT is a UK safety check, all cars over 3 years old need to have one annually....

Converting to RHD is not that difficult, all minis are able to be 'either' handed, essentially what you need is a RHD steering rack, which means you'll be able to move the steering column, etc over to the right...

The pedal box is the other thing which needs moving ( or replacing - I can't remeber if the LHD pedal box has the pedals bent in a different direction ). You need to look how the conversion was done and where the brake and clutch master cylinders are located. These need to be moved over to the right and re-plumbed, but I think your servo is already on the right which means there may be a bar travelling across the bulkhead for the brake operation.

**edit**

Does that mean in Hawaii you drive on the 'correct' side of the road ???

WOW, thanks for all the love.
I live on Oahu.
We drive on the "incorrect" side of the road.
Thanks for the complements on my mini.
Still deciding if I am gonna change it back to RHD, I need to strip it and see how bad the rust is. RHD is an added cost.
I am still trying to learn a bit about the car. I think the engine is a 1275. Don't know if it is any type of special model. Hell I don't even know if its an S or not.

Hello!

Shes a nice Mini, and nice doggy too!

Im sure you can get bits sent out to you from the UK, but im guessing postage will cost a fair bit. Minispares will be a good place to try :(
