Haynes manuals have pictures

1 Post readability

1a. It's true most of us would sooner read a Haynes than Harry Potter.
1b. You could be on to something here.
1c. You'll also never be lost for and ending...
1d. it's the same as the beginning but in reverse order.

Yank humour is brilliant...Friends, scrubs, king of queens. But brit humour is equal to it...fools and horses, and ...the other ones !

Plus there's a lot of new stuff over here that's followed the English thing for avoiding laughter tracks (Spaced, The Office etc.). You should check out It's "Always Sunny In Philadelphia" and "Community." It goes some way to making up for all the sh1te sitcoms (Cosby Show, Will & Grace)

I think British humour is better though. It's darker. Although US sitcoms like Friends are good, some are absolutely terrible. Like any sitcom Disney have a part in making.

But to swing this back towards "Mini Chat", despite them making fun of the Mini, we commonly make fun of their cars. Top Gear does it regularly. Truth be told though, some of their cars are horrific.

some of our cars are horrific....oh wait :- we dont really have anybody left lol

i honestly think its about equal...horses for courses...if big cars sell over there they make big cars, little sporty cars sell well here were certainly not in short supply of them...of course that also means somewhere theres some folk who like apsolutly shocking creations, looking out my windows 1st one i notice is a micra...ewww but the korea has to be the winner when i think of shocking cars.

Lol, I just bought my wife a '97 Micra today! She has wanted one since we got here, to me they kinda look like a Mini! If you look there are all kinds of similarities with the design cues. I think the fugliest car I have seen here is the "Multipla".....what is up with that thing?! UGLY! The ugliest American car I have seen has to be the Pontiac Aztek......horrible design. I just don't understand why Clarkson makes fun of the Mustang so much. I have a video of Clarkson on my computer where he has nothing but great things to say about the 'Stang, then on Top Gear he makes fun of them. Honestly, he is entitled to his opinion but personally a 2003/2004 Cobra would rival nearly everything he has to put up against it. Heck, put the Stig in a Terminator and it would smoke everything! :errr:

Hands down, my NEXT car.....a 600 PLUS horsepower 2003 Cobra. In "Sonic Blue".

Before the Mini was "remade" as the MINI, i thought a modern adaptation of the classic would similar to a '2000 Micra.

With rounder headlights and a different grille, it would be more on the money than the Bini.

Clarkson has complimented the Mustang before on Top Gear. I remember one episode where he called the Rousch Mustang "properly brilliant".

So you see the similarities too! The Micra seems like a nice little machine. We are selling our Audi now that we have the Micra. Yeah, Clarkson.......I think I remember that episode. They talked about the Roush and Clarkson said it was a great car if "your the kind of guy that wants to date your Sister". Then he went on to say how great it handles. I don't think he can make his mind up, it's like the Ford GT he had. He got and loved it, then later recanted and said it was rubbish. I would kill to own a Ford GT! 5.4L behemoth.

I've had a ride in the Ford SVT Lightning truck, which has the same 5.4l V8 as the GT, and that thing SHIFTS. 0-60 in six seconds..in a truck that weighs over two tons!

Some American cars have that blend of being rubbish, but great. The Chrysler 300C for example, is a rubbish car, but i really want a blacked out, drug dealer rimmed one.

Yeah, I know what you mean. At our last base there was LOTS or "Murdered Out" 300Cs....I don't like them but I can understand why some people do, they are basically a Bentley for the poor man. We used to have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid, it was rubbish but it was nice at the same time. The Lightning, yeah...VERY mean trucks. I raced one in my GT and was pulling ahead of the guy a little. Once we got to the next light he rolled his window down and chatted a little about Small Block Fords. Friendly guy and wasn't afraid to put the pedal down. This all happened late at night on a very straight stretch of road, nobody else in sight except us two (in case someone was going to complain about street racing, I don't condone it but sometimes the conditions are right AND safe).

I've been stationed here for almost 4 years and I'm going to be really sad to be leaving soon, but I have a great little mini to take back with me as a souvenir. I understand the the whole UK/US rivalry, my neighbor and I will sit back and have a few pints and conversation always turns to our differnece. I poke fun at his accent, he laughs at what we call beer in the states (I agree with that actually). I think as long as you understand, at least for us, it's all in fun, you shouldn't get too worked up about it. Even though I do think Clarkston goes overboard on Top Gear a bit :dontgetit: . But I understand the "Gotta support British pride and all". He is one of my favorite pictures of my mini.

You at RAFM? Does that Mini have a DSN Classics sticker in the window? I think I saw it at the BXtra awhile back.

Fools and Horses is tame and sometimes lame.

The League Of Gentlemen, Psychoville, Little Britain and the wacky Mighy Boosh is best.
