Hi all.

As this is my first post here, I would like to make a quick presentation: I'm from northern Portugal, and I'm designing, developing and building a few kit cars at the moment, but the last project is a scratch built bike engined mini, with a full fibreglass bodywork and tubular chassis.

The particular point of this project is the massive rear end with a complete air diffuser under the chassis.

The engine I'm using is K8 GSXR1000 unit and also I've fitted 13" wheels.

The final weight will be around 400 Kg, though I'm strugling at the moment with some issues regarding the weight distribution. Anyway, I'm making the extra wings in foam and covering them with fibreglass for the first parts. A mould will be taken then, as I already have the mould for the main body.

The rear will open in one part as per the group B Peugeot 205 T16.

If you guys interested, I gladly can make updates regarding this project.

Best regards from Portugal,

Hi.

Thank you very much for the comments.

I will try to make updates as often as I can. Several projects on the way (currently also making a hardtop for the Seven I built), but the Mini has to be done very soon...

Anyway, about the car itself, the body was taken from moulds made using an original metal body mini and the new wings will be made in separate parts to allow retrofiting other Mini projects.

I will try to post a few pictures more about the chassis, and at the time I might start a project thread if you think it's ok!

Regards from Portugal,

Ernesto Freitas

Hello.

Seven months later, here I am again, this time with updates on the Mini project.

It was a bit slow progress due to many other projects and work going on at the moment, but the result (at the moment) is promissing.

It's still in the need for some detail parts and a couple bolts and rivets to use, but It's almost finished.

I sure hope you like it as it is.

Ernesto Freitas
