I'd not go for anything wider personally & it's best to avoid excessive offsets but if you want the look, at the expense of handling, then deep dish 6's with more offset would be the way to go.

where are you going to buy the tyres ?

165's are the widest i have seen and they only just fit a 6 inch rim

I know of someone who found 175 tyres for a 12" wheel. Don't know what make or type he used but I found some of vredestein, goodyear and bridgestone but they are 175/70/12.

put very very simply the mini and it's suspension was designed with drum brakes and 4 inch wide wheels

fitting 6 inch wheels makes the wheels stick out 3 inches more than what was designed

Not stricktly true, standard issue 6x10 revolutions have a 3.5" backface , which means a 2.5" front , poss offset of 12.5mm

your reply is too sweeping and too general ,i can build a 6" wide wheel with 50mm possitive offset, which is 25mm more than a standard 4" wide wheel, and 37.5mm more than the above revolution,

the word off set does not make a car handle badly,

12x6 Revolutions have the widest offset of the 'normal' wheels I believe. Basically, the lower the offset is, the more the wheels will stick out. So an offset of 0 will stick out much more that an offset of 25. It's how far set back the bolt holes of the wheel are compared to the outer rim (if that makes any sense... :()

No it doesnt make sense, offset is how far the mounting face of the wheel is set back or forward from the centreline of the wheel.Positive offset is where the mounting face is outwards of the centre line and negative is where the mounting face is inwards of the centre line.

Cheers Ross.
