i was thinking now that i have all non chrome bright work (apart from grille for now) i was thinking of getting it all powder coated in black chrome. so what do you think black chrome on black mini or leave it grey

Ive had two black minis in the past and i think they look best with chrome on it ... may be a bit over kill with black chrome but each to there own

Would you need to have it plated in the same way as you would if you were to get something re-chromed?

3 options, yes it can be electro plated. threes a few company who do powder coat black look alike chrome, and i found one website where you can by it in paint form looks high quality stuff. but its defiantly chrome and a compromise between overkill black.

that is quite a dark shade though there's a grey chrome (shiny) too.

It actually looks quite tasty IMO.

If I was going to go down that route I'd get everything dipped like the old fashioned way - and then paint on black paint on the underside of what ever you had done.

just a small correction, but im not 100% sure im right.

As far as im aware, it is not chrome, it is nickle with some other chemicals, chromium doesn't even come into the mix.
