Yeah pretty good, if you can justify nearly £30 on a foot of hose!

These are only really worthwhile on 12A engines or possibly racing applications.

What they are replacing is the troublesome pipe so its always a win win situ. Oil pressure loss is never good! :D

I had the minispares one which is a bit more but :D

Except that on engines earlier than 12A types, the pipe was never a problem!

Iv got a kink in mine, so needs replacing! I honestly have no idea what a 12A engine is, all i know is i think the one i posted up is the one for mine, with the big banjo bolt.

cheers

I dont know which engine he's got Dan? The link picture has a banjo on one end but I'm sure the 12A's don't?

Ahh beat me to it, fair enough, I thought you just put up a random picture of a braided feed pipe.

If you want to spend the money then by all means buy it. A good second hand banjo pipe will be fine though, the banjo type pipe was always reliable. 12A engines (the engine number starts 12A) don't use a banjo bolt to connect the pipe to the engine. They use a plain ended olive sealed pipe that is known to pop out of the engine every now and then.

what kind of DIY solutions are there for this?
like a couple of fittings and hose? i imagine the wrong application for jubilee clips.

I was considering buying one of these for my small bore. The reason being that I could never get the banjo end to seal properly. The edge of the circular bit on the edge of the pipe seemed to foul the block :(

Could I just use two or more copper washers?

Hi !

I have fitted one like this just before going to the IMM last summer on my Spi Mini, because the engine is a 12A and because I had the problem with the plain ended olive sealed pipe that was slightly leaking, and as it was known to pop out under arduous conditions I didn't want to travel to the IMM with this risk.

I have fitted this one from Minispares:

Minispares braided oil pipe.

It was quite expensive, but the problem was imediately fixed with no other issue.
