All types of Mini (including the modern BMW) are invited to this annual event, so expect displays in all areas of the Museum grounds. Bookings are now being taken for Trade Stands and Club space - Clubs that have already confirmed their attendance are Thames Valley, LSMOC, Essex, West Sussex, Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton.
The provisional timetable is as follows:
9.00 Gates open
11.30-12.00 First Test Hill session
14.30-15.00 Second Test Hill session
17.00 Event ends

Access to the Museum site for Minis is via our Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road (the B374). All other vehicle parking is in The Heights off Wellington Way or our usual car park at Mercedes-Benz World.

A really good Mini show which has grown in the last few years with plenty to do including Concorde, Brooklands Museum and Mercedes World, etc, included. :D

Latest information email update received from Brooklands:

The 10th Annual Mini Day event at Brooklands Museum will be held on Sunday 28th March. We still have space left for both clubs stands and trade pitches.

This year the event has been modified to incorporate two Test Hill sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, where Mini owners will have the opportunity to drive their cars up the infamous 1:8 test hill. In addition, the Museum will also be holding their first “Show N Shine” competition with prizes for the top two cars in each of the nine classes, as well as a prize for the MiniWorld car of the show.

Last year, all available parking in the Museum grounds was exhausted well before midday with over 800 Minis on site, resulting in a number of Minis having to be turned away and directed to the general public parking area. To try and avoid this from happening again we have been able to make more space available this year, but visitors are recommended to arrive early to be sure of parking within the Museum grounds.

Entrants for the Test Hill trial and “Show N Shine” need to register in advance. Application forms can also be requested by email from the events team as detailed below. Places are limited and early booking is advised.

As this is the 50th anniversary of the Van, Traveller and Countryman, the Museum would like to have a special display of these vehicles in the Paddock outside the Clubhouse. If any of your members have a MINI Clubman and would like it to be considered for the anniversary display, please get them to contact us directly by Email as it would be good to incorporate a modern Clubman into the display.

We are currently taking bookings for Club and Trade stands and already have a number of Clubs and Traders booked. If your club is interested in having a stand at the event please email for a club stand booking form. We are hoping to accommodate club stands on the Museum site so that clubs can park all their members together. Due to heavy demand for space, we will confirm specific locations for clubs at the end of February and we will forward a plan showing your location at that time.

We are also offering clubs a group admission discount on more than ten visitors at £8.00 per person payable in advance, saving £1 on the pay on entrance price. In addition, to speed up admission to the Museum, there will be a fast track entrance lane for advanced ticket holders at the Campbell gate. So take the opportunity to save some money and jump the queue. A Group booking form is available.

We will update the events page on the Museum Web site (Brooklands Museum) with additional information leading up to the event, so check it out for the latest news.

To contact the events team, please send an email to the following address: [email protected]

To help us manage the enquiries efficiently, please give a brief description of the mail in the subject line, e.g. “Mini day – Show N Shine application”

We would be grateful if you could circulate this updated information to your members.

Kind regards

One day we'll make it down to this as it looks fantastic - but we'd make a week-end of it because it's a fair old trek and we haven't got round to getting anything sorted for this year yet

How do you get to run up the hill? Do you have to pre-book or on the day. Does it cost anything to run up the hill? The site doesn't say anything.

Cheers,
Dave
