as the title sugest...i want a sat nav but cannot remember which one it is where you can download all sorts of voices for it, does anyone know?

Well I know Tomtom you can download voices for ( not that any of them are any good ) I find the generic ones are clear enough....

im after funny voices like celebritys or other funny things like cockney voices, i know theres a well known brand that does it

but once you've used a 'comic' voice and actually tried going anywhere..... you'll soon be switching it back to Left Right...

i have a LOAD of voices for my tomtom its currently set to one that is somewhat urmm kinky she tells me to do all sorts of stuff lmao aha

i did find a website where you could download them but can't remember the name now

get a friend to read directions if a funny voice? ha.

can download them on tom tom's got a yorkshire *woman of ill repute* and voice as mine atm lol

well mine is tom tom software on my mobile phone
i might be able to transfer the files onto computer and send you them, no idea if it would work though or how big the files are

ahh well i have a fair few voices for when u do get one

but would definately say tom tom, software is great and has lots of options on routes and stuff

We have the George "Dubya" Bush voice on our Tomtom and find it quite hilarious! They did a pretty good job on the voice and listening to Dubya always manages to get you confused....much like he did while President. We mainly use the default voice but occasionally use the Dubya voice for laughs.

do yu have to pay for map updates etc?

If you need a new map you have to pay but if you need updates to the software they are free. GPS Fix is the file that needs updating most often, it contains the latest satellite data and it's free. If you have traffic and camera subscriptions you get all the relevant updates for as long as your subscription lasts.

Unless you have a cracked TomTom you can't use genuine TomTom maps or voices or any files that have been sold to someone else. Each copy of every file on your TomTom is coded to only work on your device or your copy of the TomTom programme.

Genuine voices, comedy or not, are fine for navigating. TomTom make sure that the instructions are always clear and concise, even if it is a comedy voice. The non-genuine after-market voices are the ones that are a pain to actually try and use, although they are amusing.

TomTom's software package for the computer is TomTom Home and that is what governs the synching of your device and is where you control what you install on it and how often you update it and everything. TomTom Home is awful, it's some of the worst software ever written and dealing with TomTom as a company is a terrible experience. They do make a very good navigator but everything else about them is a joke.

The only down side I have found to TomTom as a navigator is that it doesn't understand south London.
