could just pay a mate to sit in your passenger seat with a loud hailer and let out a "Ptchhhhhhh" noise every time you change gear....

On a serious note, have a scout around ebay. Sure i've seen a few on there.

i think there lame but each to there own

You could get one of those anoying speaker ones . But ive herd them in car parks and some of the cars they keep going off every so often, when there not even reving the car they just slowly idleing along.

just a question. why would you want it to sound like it has one when to any one who knows about cars they will clearly be able to tell it dosent. As the fake ones do sound Fake

C'mon guys lets stick to the forum rules. The poster asked for advice on where he could get one. Not for comments or personal opnions on the device or it use.

Mate a dump valve is there to dump the unused compressed air from the turbo, there is no way you can fit an actual dump valve without having something to compress the air in the first place, i would never ever fit any fake dump valve personally, your only cheating yourself! But its up to you, there not going to get any better than whats already been quoted though.

It's actually there to prevent the compressed air from forming a shock wave when the throttle closes. If this were allowed to happen it can travel back down the inlet and stop the turbo causing more lag and worse case scenario destroy it.

I'm sure there are cheaper ones around. I'll continue to google for ya.

Ahh ok the right idea just the wrong reason, you learn something new everyday i guess. Also what happens when a turbo stalls, and what causes that?

When I say shock wave it's my way of explaining it, its a positvie head of pressure that starts moving down the inlet track until it reaches the compressor. As this pressure is moving the opposite way it acts the opposite way on the compressor which slows it down causing it to stall. At the same time though the exhaust gases are still trying to turn the turbine, which as you can imagine can have a really bad effect on the turbo.

I'm sure if you google it , you will get a clearer explanation than I can give. It's a lot easier for me to explain it with diagrams.
